Luxembourg is home to the smallest industrial gas market in the Benelux region. The merchant market is catered for by production facilities in neighbouring countries and there is some limited supply scheme projects active in the country.
The country boasts a strong steel sector and features a number of production plants-hence metallurgy is the largest end user of gases in the country. Many financial and technological companies choose to base operations here due to its favourable tax laws, political stability and links to other European countries.
