The Albanian commercial gases market generated estimated revenues of $9.3m in 2018.Growth has been erratic over the course of the last decade, but with revenues remaining in the region of $4-8m.
Almost all the Albanian merchant industrial gas market is based on imports from neighbouring countries. SOL and Messer dominate the market. SOL operates in Albania through its subsidiary Gazta Teknike Shqiptare (GTS). Until Messer entered the market in 2007, GTS imported around 80% of the gas to Albania.
Within the 2018-2023 timeframe, gasworld business intelligence predict growth from 3.3% p.a. in a low scenario to 7.9% p.a. in a high scenario. Accordingly, the industry in Albania is expected to achieve revenues of between $11m – $14m by 2023.
